The big Children’s University Knowledge Box

The Audio Publisher, For ages 8 and up, 12 CDs, total approx. 895 minutes (= almost 15 hours!)

Learning is Fun

Now we have something “mighty” here! Children want to know a lot and constantly pepper us with their “why” questions. That’s a good thing. But can we really satisfy children’s thirst for knowledge in all areas? When my son wants to delve deeper into a topic, I sometimes start to struggle… How was that again? I remember learning that…

The knowledge box “The Great Children’s University” from “The Audio Publisher” offers comprehensive knowledge on 12 CDs about topics that children around 8 years old are burning to know more about. The total playing time amounts to incredible 895 minutes, that’s almost 15 hours… That’s a lot of knowledge!

On the CD “Dinosaurs and Volcanoes,” it’s all about the beloved dinosaurs and the most important questions about them. Why did they go extinct? Who found the first dinosaurs? Did the dinosaurs lay down to sleep? The second part also explains volcanoes and their magical fire in detail. Do you still remember what a Ring of Fire is, what lies beneath the Earth’s crust, or why some volcanoes are gentle while others are “explosive”? Those are just a few of the exciting questions. The other CDs cover topics like “Jokes and School,” “Humans and Apes,” “Poor/Rich and Muslims,” “Plants and Humans,” “Children and Statues,” “Dreaming and Listening,” “Myself and the Sky,” “Boys, Girls, and Athletes,” “Lightning/Thunder and Bats,” “Knights and Stories,” and “Mathematicians and Doctors.” There’s something for every area of interest.

Currently, the topic of “Jokes and School” is highly popular with my son as well. He loves telling jokes and tells them to anyone who wants to hear them or not. ;-)) On the CD, it’s explained what the elephant in the refrigerator is actually looking for and why we forget so much of what we learned in school. (I constantly wonder about that too!)

Shouldn’t a hundred actually be called ninety? Why is handwashing so important? Kids will hear the answers to these questions on the album “Mathematicians and Doctors.”

The CD “Myself and the Sky” explores the following questions: Does the self reside in the brain? How do apples fall in space, and why do the stars shine?

Conclusion: The reading is exciting and interesting, even though a lot of knowledge is being conveyed and the information comes quickly. In between, a child asks a question, with soft music playing in the background. For curious children aged 8 and up, the Children’s University Box is the perfect entertainment – infotainment, if you will. When one of the CDs plays in our car, my elder son is as quiet as a mouse and highly focused. (Usually, he’s a little chatterbox, informing us about everything he sees!)
