Get to Know Your hörbert

Topic: Making voice recordings using the voice microphone with hörbert (Model 2021)

Dear hörbert fans,
The voice recording function on hörbert is intended as a fun feature for young and old alike, to record and listen to your own voice using the small built-in voice microphone.
It’s often very amusing and brings a lot of fun because hearing yourself “live” sounds quite different from how others hear you, and you perceive your own voice over the speaker in a whole new way. Voice recordings are played back a few seconds immediately after recording.
The recording quality is not as pure and free from transmission losses as when recording Bluetooth streams or internet radio directly internally with the hörbert electronics. You get the best result by speaking or singing loudly and clearly directly into the small microphone opening at a distance of no more than 5 cm ;-), with the LED glowing red after starting a recording.
This great function of hörbert also offers the opportunity to record voice messages, bedtime stories, or whatever you want for your kids, so they are always and everywhere available for the little ones.

Now, here are the three steps to enable the fun for you:

Step 1

Ensure that the voice microphone on your hörbert is activated:

• Screw open hörbert from the back.
• Turn on hörbert – it will first play from its memory card.
• Press the SET button inside – hörbert will go silent.
• Press the dark green button (Mic) on the front once in the bottom row on the right. This button is responsible for activating or deactivating the microphone function. See the SET template below in the post.
• Does a single high-pitched signal tone sound? Then the voice mic is now activated. Does a double, slightly darker signal tone sound? Then you have just deactivated the voice mic. Press the dark green button again until the single signal tone is heard.
• Save your settings by pressing the SET button again inside. You will hear a short double confirmation tone.
• Wait a few seconds until hörbert plays again, then turn it off (press the dial once on top).

Step 2

Editing the memory card on the PC

Using the hörbert Software, you can predefine which colorful button recordings can be saved on. You can also allow several buttons for voice recordings.

• Start the hörbert software
• Remove the memory card from hörbert and connect it to your computer via an internal or external card reader.
• In the hörbert software, the name of the SD card will be displayed after a few seconds. Here it is called “DE”:

• Click on the button “Read Card” next to it and wait until the card is read and numbers are displayed on the colorful buttons. The numbers represent the number of titles already stored on the buttons.
• Click on the colorful button where you want to allow voice microphone recordings. The content window of the desired button opens.
• Then place a checkmark in the box “Allow microphone recordings here” at the bottom of the window.
