Retro orange Hörbert in a 70s look

Here we present an extraordinary MP3 player with the 1970s look of an Orange amplifier.

The Hörbert team would like to thank Manuel for providing the great pictures and information for this blog post.

Info from Manuel:
‘At the beginning of 2021, I built a Hörbert kit in the style of a Mini Orange amplifier, and the device is now used every day by my 6-year-old daughter. After recently replacing the speaker and re-milling the front panel with a Shaper Origin, I wanted to send you a photo of it. Thank you very much for this great product!’

“An Orange amplifier model from the late 1970s served as a template here; the idea was to remain as authentic as possible in terms of look and materials. I completed the build in about three months in the spring of 2021 with the help of my father. The white Plexiglas front panel was drilled by hand at the time, unfortunately with a few mistakes and cracks, which I was recently able to correct with a Shaper Origin (computer-controlled milling machine, see the two additional photos) and thus produce the panel again cleanly. At the same time, I replaced the Visaton speaker with a Dayton Audio PC105-8 full range speaker, as my now 6-year-old daughter mainly listens to music through the speaker.
