hörbert can be paired as a Bluetooth speaker with a mobile phone, tablet or computer.

You can easily connect your mobile phone to hörbert and use hörbert as a Bluetooth speaker.
This way, your mobile phone belongs to you again and the playlist selected on the phone or another transmitter device (e.g. tablet, PC) provides entertainment in the children’s room :-).

For all those who prefer to have it in black and white, here is the quick guide to setting the Bluetooth functions:

 

1.) Step 1: Activate Bluetooth and pairing in SET mode. Note: This only needs to be done once!

 

1. Open hörbert’s back panel using a coin and pull it out.
2. Then switch hörbert on once by pressing the rotary control. It will then play normally from the memory card.
3. Press the SET mode button inside. hörbert goes silent and is now in SET mode.
4. Press the light green button to activate Bluetooth. You should hear a single, bright beep, which means that Bluetooth is activated.
5. Press the yellow button for pairing. A single, bright beep must sound to indicate that pairing is activated.
6. Then press the SET button inside hörbert again to save. hörbert will then play from its memory card again.
7. Switch hörbert off again.

2.) Step 2: Switch on Bluetooth speaker mode

1. Switch hörbert to Bluetooth speaker mode by pressing the on/off button twice within approx. 0.5 seconds. hörbert will then not even play from its memory card. Instead, after pressing the on/off switch for the second time, you will hear a few ascending beeps to confirm that hörbert is now in Bluetooth speaker mode.
2. You now have 60 seconds to pair hörbert in the list of Bluetooth devices on your mobile phone or with another transmitter.
3. Then start a playlist, a track or e.g. a youtube music video on the transmitter, hörbert will then play all audio sources from its speaker.
4. Attention: If you want to stop streaming and switch hörbert off, press the rotary control at the top once. Then hörbert is off. It is not enough to simply disconnect the mobile phone. hörbert then stays on and consumes power, it waits for a new transmitter…

 

3.) Note on the Bluetooth recording function:

If you also want to record the Bluetooth streams to the SD card, a further step on the computer with the hörbert software and the SD card is necessary beforehand.

4.) Optional: Deactivating the pairing function after successful first pairing

Once you have successfully paired all known and desired Bluetooth transmitters in your household with hörbert, we recommend deactivating the pairing function. This way, no unwanted third-party devices can “interfere”. This is how it works:

1. Open hörbert’s back panel with the help of a coin and pull it out.
2. Then switch hörbert on once by pressing the rotary control. It then plays normally from the memory card.
3. Press the SET mode button inside. hörbert goes silent and is now in SET mode.
4. Press the yellow button for pairing. You should hear a double, slightly deeper signal tone, which means that pairing is deactivated.
5. Then press the SET button inside hörbert again to save. hörbert will play from its memory card again after a few seconds.
6. Switch off hörbert or continue listening as you wish.
