How Hörbert makes everyday life easier at the Bremer Heimstiftung
The Bremer Heimstiftung has recently started using the dementia radio hörbert – and feedback from practitioners impressively demonstrates how much the device makes everyday care easier while also improving residents’ quality of life.
Simple operation – big impact
At the Cigarrenmanufactur community centre and the Stiftungsdorf Gröpelingen foundation village, it quickly becomes clear why hörbert is so popular: hörbert can be operated without any prior technical knowledge, meaning that all employees can use it immediately and no time-consuming training is required. Operation is intuitive, without a screen. This ensures stress-free use because nothing can be misadjusted. In addition, the device can be flexibly loaded with different content and adapted to various situations.
‘We are impressed by the device’s ease of use and versatility,’ reports Max Johannsen, director of the Bremer Heimstiftung.
Diverse content for group and individual support
hörbert delivers ready-to-use content: music to sing along to, exercise and relaxation music, memory games and much more. At the same time, institutions can upload their own content to the device in just a few steps – or use online streams if desired.

Even more possibilities for the future
The Bremer Heimstiftung plans to incorporate audiobooks and interactive content in the future – another step that will further increase hörbert’s usefulness in care.
A real support tool in care
The employees agree: hörbert provides them with noticeable support in their everyday work, facilitates personal care and enriches the emotional well-being of the residents.
‘For me, hörbert is a real support in care,’ summarises Max Johannsen. ‘I look forward to seeing how the radio continues to be used in practice – and what new opportunities will arise.’
