Since we started offering felt bag sewing kits for hörbert, the amount of material has also increased. Clever storage is needed so that the felt doesn’t get pressure marks. Our Jacky came up with and cleverly implemented this:
The felt rolls simply hang freely in the air, and since they are wound on a cardboard core, the inner layer doesn’t get damaged, except for the trimming waste that already occurs during winding at the manufacturer.

From this hanging storage, the felt moves to the rough cutting section, where it is also inspected to remove foreign particles. Unfortunately, we still find broken needles from the felt production in some rolls, which we remove. Discolorations or defects also fall victim to our strict controls.
After rough cutting, the tablecloth-sized pieces are placed in the laser, which cuts out the shaped parts and the holes(!). During this process, a felt piece also receives its hörbert engraving, just like the hörbert that will later be inside it.
