In January 2016, hörbert made its debut at the International Toy Fair in Nuremberg—and with a double appearance! It was showcased both at our booth among young and innovative companies from Baden-Württemberg and on a special exhibition area, the Trend Gallery. hörbert achieved this because a jury of ten journalists and market researchers selected it for the “Design to Play” category. We are incredibly proud of our hörbert! This is fondly remembered on the anniversary.
The demand for the unique wooden MP3 player is increasing. Soon the premises are bursting at the seams, and a relocation becomes necessary. We are moving from 200 to 600 square meters to Frickenhausen, into the former Stribel area, which has been converted into a business park.
As we are on a roll, we are applying for this year’s KfW Award, aiming to become GründerChampion. It’s important to know about this competition, that every year the KfW Bank, under the patronage of the Federal Ministry of Economics, selects one company per federal state to become the GründerChampion of its respective state. The state winner is distinguished by innovative products, creative and sustainable business ideas with social value. The jury is composed of high-profile representatives from politics and business, state development institutes, and chambers of commerce and industry.
Our efforts are crowned with success: On October 6, 2016, Rainer Brang receives the award for WINZKI and hörbert and is ceremoniously crowned as the GründerChampion of Baden-Württemberg at the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy in Berlin.

With this award in hand, we certainly won’t rest in 2016.
In November 2016, we present hörbert at the games fair in hörbert’s birthplace, Stuttgart.
