Here we present a particularly beautiful creation with many curves, made using our hörbert electronics kit:
This wonderful audio player was a gift for the third birthday of Toni H.’s daughter.
Here’s a personal tip from the DIY enthusiast, which we are happy to pass on:
“I built this project in the OBI workshop. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to build something but lacks tools, as they provide all the necessary tools along with expert advice.”
Thank you, Toni, for providing the photos! We wish your little one lots of joy with it.
For this project, a longer flat ribbon cable was needed for the rotary encoder. Here are our recommendations:
You need a flat ribbon cable with a 1.0 mm pitch, 6 conductors, Type A. The specification is “AWM 20624 100mm 6 pin”. You can find it, for example, here.
You can also use longer cables, but we recommend keeping them as short as possible to avoid unwanted interference.
Important note: These cables always have one non-conductive side, so be sure to insert them in the correct orientation. Also, ensure that the contacts on both ends of the cable are facing the same direction, otherwise, the electronics may be damaged.
